Positions Available

Director of Operations

The Director of Operations serves as lead program manager, coordinating all client projects and business forecasting. This position reports directly to the CEO of Launch and collaborates regularly with the Business Manager and Director of Resilience and Grants.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing company operations in collaboration with the CEO Leadership Team
  • Coordinating project schedules, budgets, and staff workload
  • Tracking, forecasting, and reporting on company revenues, expenses, and cash flow
  • Supporting project managers in leading the delivery of projects, including managing professional client interface, tracking project schedule and budget to stay on target, managing team members assisting with project delivery, and preparing project deliverables
  • Attending virtual team meetings, project management meetings, and business development meetings held weekly
  • Providing quality control reviews of documents and products
  • Developing programs and projects which inspire employees and support staff development
  • Participating in planning for company growth in staff and/or staff expertise
  • Communicating on a regular basis with the CEO regarding projects and employee or client needs
  • Participating in annual employee evaluations
  • Occasional travel (costs to be paid by Launch)

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Leading interactive client meetings, workshops, and trainings
  • Leading internal Launch meetings, workshops, and trainings
  • Technical contributions to projects
  • Grant writing and project management for clients

Required skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Attention to detail 
  • Flexibility of assignments on a daily basis 
  • Expert technical writing and editing abilities
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), BOX, Google Maps, Zoom, and other business software and web-based applications
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and independently
  • Understanding of environmental or engineering consulting companies

Required experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) and 5 years industry experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in program management/consulting

Resilience Specialist

The Resilience Specialist contributes to client projects, including supporting client meetings and assisting in the development of deliverables. These include climate resilience projects, risk assessments, emergency plans, trainings, tabletop exercise design, supporting grant development, requests for information, etc. This role also supports Launch internal projects such as business proposal development, facilitating client outreach, assisting team members with projects, and other functions as needed.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the development and timely delivery of client projects
  • Assisting in proposal writing and information management
  • Participation in client interface, tracking project details, assisting team members in project delivery, preparing and reviewing project documents and deliverables
  • Participating in all stages of resilience projects for public and private organizations
  • Compiling detailed notes from meetings and incorporating data into reports and memorandums
  • Assisting in developing resilience plans and other project documents
  • Travel, assisting in conducting workshops, assisting in occasional fieldwork
  • Seeking quality control check for all project deliverables
  • Providing quality control checks on documents
